Snake plants are one of the most forgiving plants you can own. They can be neglected for months and they will still thrive. Of course, this is not recommended, but is a great starter plant for a first time plant parent.
They don’t need much water, and you can allow for the top 3-4 inches of the soil to dry out in between watering. Reduce the amount you water in the fall and winter when the plant is dormant. It does best in well drained soil, as it can be prone to root rot. A snake plant can tolerate low light conditions, but if possible place in indirect sunlight for optimal growth.
Snake plants are toxic, keep out of reach of pets and young children.
